Causing quite a stir across the capital's grassroots music venues (including the lauded Brixton Windmill) pre-covid, inventive post-punk-influenced outfit Folly Group are the latest to feature on SLOW DANCE's forthcoming compilation Slow Dance '20. Appearing alongside tracks by Bunny Hoova, Platonica Erotica and Comfort, 'Fashionista' is an infectious concoction of catchy Squid-esque vocals, wiry guitars and tumbling beats that roll out over an ominous synth drone. Metallic cowbells and moving chord changes bring energy and dynamics to the track as guitarist/vocalist Louis Swords recites the alluring hook: "On the first page of my novella, under the stretch of my umbrella".
